In this process, Lewatit® ion exchange resins with various functions can be accommodated in a single unit. The different resins can be regenerated without cross-contamination. Depending on the types of ion exchange resins used, the Multistep unit is divided into two or more chambers by nozzle plates. Each chamber contains a layer of inert material to ensure optimal distribution of the regenerant solution and to prevent the collector system from becoming plugged.
