These heterogeneous membranes have strongly ionized functionality that yields high permselective for industrial processes. The combination of a very strong fabric and chemically stable binder produces a very tough membrane. The Ionac membrane line is considered the strongest membrane in the industry and is used in the following applications:
Production of organic acids
Recovery of metals from electroplating and metal finishing baths
Recovery of pickle liquors
Electrocoating for both anionic and cationic paint systems
The MA-3475 anion membrane and the MC-3470 cation membrane are sold in sheets. The MA-7500 anion membrane is sold in rolls of up to 130 feet (~40 meters).
